Flip UltraHD review!
I have been a Modify digicam person since they published the first generation. Modify Mino HD (not the new metal model). I adored the video camera as far as i was concerned it was the best video camera. For what I required it for it was everything I desired. I soon became hooked to the Modify electronic cameras and required to buy the latest one each time they came out.
I currently own the Modify Mino HD (1st gen) Modify Extra HD (2nd Gen) Modify Move HD, and now the Modify Extra HD (3rd Gen with Modify Port). I also own a Brother GL2 and Vixia 30 electronic cameras and a Brother Xi electronic SLR.
I got house from university on Wednesday and discovered my company new Modify Extra HD awaiting me. I had about 20 moments to start the bundle, look and set up the functions (time, time frame, etc.) before I had to depart for walking group testing. During testing I did some analyze firing and I was very satisfied with the excellent of this digicam, but I was worried about a few functions.
I was cautious at first to buy this digicam because of the 60fps function. I did own a Kodak Zi8 and the 720p 60fps establishing didn't not transfer into Ultimate Cut Pro. I had to take it into air compressor or some other application and alter the computer file extendable if you want for Ultimate Cut Pro to transfer it. Of course this causes a loss of excellent.
I was also cautious because of the picture leveling function. When picture leveling is included to a digicam (of this size) movie excellent usually endures. I know flicks can be very unsure if you do not have a well qualified side. After a few time a enjoying you will decide the right actions that the digicam can include things like so your movie will not come out unsure.
I don't use my Modify Move HD because of the omni online mic. I can not history noisy circumstances because the mic alters. This is my largest mistake with the Move HD. I was a little worried with the new Modify Extra HD that it would have the same issue even though it uses a different mic, but what really marketed me on this new Modify was the components and the FLIP PORT.
Right off the bat I discovered all of the new components that they are forcing for the Flips, the aquapacks, the igo rechargers, and my preferred is the magnet Bower Large Angel Contact. Modify and 'cisco' have lastly began enjoying its clients, but what put it over the top for me was Pink Mics. Pink Mics creates classic and out of this community documenting, business, usb microphones. I own one of their USB Mics known as the Snowfall Soccer tennis ball and the excellent of that mic is awesome. When I discovered out that Pink Mics was creating a mic (mikey) for the new Modify to be used with the new Modify Interface, I ordered my own right away.
So the Evaluation...
The Extra HD has always been my preferred because of its dimension. I think the larger it is the better management you will have and the less unsure movie you will generate. The new Extra HD is lesser, but not that much. It seamless comfort in your palms. The handles and the display are in the same position. It is a awesome fit in your side.
I was very stunned at how well the picture leveling proved beneficial. If you have used a flip before this one you know that the least activity will make unsure movie. You can tell that this one has picture leveling. It still can generate unsure movie but it might take a big impact to do it.
The 60 fps was excellent. It was much better movie and with the picture leveling it created everything much better and better in the perspective hunter, even in low gentle circumstances. I did have a look at when I got house and the 60fps does transfer right into Ultimate Cut Pro for modifying without any pressure. (Probably cause the video clips are in MP4 format)
Overall I think this is the best Modify Camera out that you can buy. I like this one better than the Mino because of the touchscreen technology handles. Sometimes demanding the touchscreen technology handles on the Mino will cause the digicam to move.

Flip Mino HD - Excellent Microphone (2nd out of all of them), doesn't have as wide as a firing position as the Ultra's. Very little in the side, at periods challenging to management.
Flip Extra HD (2nd Gen) - Excellent Microphone (3rd out of all of them) Large Direction for firing, Seems good in the side, durable, probably won't separate if lowered. Increase A power supply power only last a few time, standard power supply has shorter life. Device can get hot when receiving - may even turn down.
Flip Move HD - Inadequate Microphone (in noisy situations) - its omni online so it choices up all around the Modify not just in the top side like the others. (4th out of all of them) Touching handles are better than the Modify Mino, however this has no challenging control buttons. The Move does have the most significant shed potential and is second in movie excellent only to the new Modify Extra HD.
Flip Extra HD (3rd Gen Modify Port) - Greatest Direction for firing, feels the best in the side, has the Best Microphone and currently I believe has the best movie excellent. This also is the only unit that has the new Modify Interface.
In essence it's not the best video camera overall but in it's price range it's the best you'll get for the money.
